New Braunfels, TX – Villarreal Civil Group is excited to announce its role in the site development for the Timberwood Park Elementary Playground Project, awarded by Dawson Construction, LLC and commissioned by Comal Independent School District. This contract includes comprehensive demolition and earthwork services as part of the district’s ongoing efforts to enhance student facilities and outdoor learning environments. Scope of Work – Demolition Services Include: Removal and haul-off of existing playground equipment, benches, and shade structures Demolition of foundations to 4’ below finished grade Removal of gravel, wood fiber, and mulch Demolition and haul-off of concrete sidewalks, curbs, channel, flatwork, and asphalt paving Removal of concrete retaining walls, basketball goals, and footings Saw cutting, fence demolition, and provision of dumpsters for all demo-related debris Complete demo of all WPAP basin components (sand, filter fabric, piping) Scope of Work – Earthwork Services Include: Site excavation, cut and fill, grading, and embankment to meet design elevations Grubbing, rough grading, and moisture conditioning of subgrades Base preparation for playground pad, turf areas, and sidewalks WPAP Basin excavation and preparation Asphalt patching and final grading across all sitework areas Excavation for modular block retaining wall Installation of pavement sections as designed by MTR Engineers, LLC Layout and staking for lines, grades, and elevations prior to construction Protection of trees to remain, and full compliance with SWPPP regulations throughout project duration Project Compliance & Quality Control As part of Villarreal Civil Group’s commitment to project integrity, the team will: Maintain a full-time onsite foreman/superintendent Verify all utility locations and cease work immediately if adjacent structures or underground systems are impacted Complete all required field surveying and coordinate with Dawson Construction’s benchmarks and control lines Meet all compaction and testing requirements, including payment for retests if density thresholds are not met “We are proud to support Comal ISD in building safer, more modern playground,” said Joseph Villarreal for Villarreal Civil Group. “This project highlights our team’s ability to deliver precision demolition and site prep services for public institutions with professionalism and accountability.” About Comal ISD: Comal Independent School District serves more than 30,2350 students across multiple communities in Central Texas, including New Braunfels, Bulverde, Spring Branch, and parts of San Antonio.
